Information on using our medical second opinion service
1. Nature and scope of the service
You are using a medical service for the preparation of a specialist second opinion based on already existing radiological examinations (e.g. MRI, CT, X-ray). The assessment is carried out exclusively on the basis of the data you submit, by radiologists licensed to practice in Germany.
There is no in-person examination, no emergency care, and no initial diagnostic workup.
2. Purpose of the second opinion
The second opinion is there to inform you, help you get your bearings, and support your decision. It does not replace initial medical treatment or any therapy provided by the doctors treating you locally.
We expressly recommend that you discuss our assessment with your own doctor.
3. Requirements
The second opinion can only be provided if:
- your image data has been submitted completely and in a technically usable form,
- you have provided a comprehensible question or indication,
- you have expressly consented to the data processing and to the provision of the medical second opinion.
4. Limits of the assessment
Our medical assessment is based exclusively on the information you submit — in particular your image data, details of your medical history, and your question.
Please note:
- Without an in-person examination or additional clinical information (e.g. laboratory values, medical reports), only a limited assessment is possible.
- Our statement may be incomplete if essential information is missing or was submitted incorrectly.
- We do not make treatment decisions.
- We accept no responsibility for health decisions made solely on the basis of this second opinion.
5. Medical confidentiality and data protection
All information and documents are subject to medical confidentiality (Section 203 of the German Criminal Code (StGB)) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Your data is processed exclusively for the purpose of the second opinion and is made accessible only to authorized specialist physicians.
Further information can be found in our Privacy Policy.
6. Costs
The preparation of the second opinion is a private medical service billed according to the German medical fee schedule (GOÄ). The exact fee depends on the scope and complexity of the case and will be communicated to you transparently before the service is performed.
As a rule, the fee ranges from approximately 70 to 120 euros.
Before the full reading, a service fee is due, which is credited toward the total if the case is accepted.
7. Consent to this information
By giving your consent, you declare
- that you have read and understood this information,
- that you consent to the radiological second opinion being provided on the basis of the information you have given,
- that you have taken note of the limits of the assessment as well as the recommendation to seek additional medical advice.
